New workflow for patient education materials in Epic

On March 3, Yale New Haven Health transitioned to an updated integrated workflow with Emmi patient education printouts and videos. 

The new workflow is an integration of Emmi Patient Education Resources/Clinical References that provides patient-specific recommendations and allows for searching, previewing, and assigning multi-media materials. The upgrade allows patients to receive evidenced-based content via printed materials, patient portal, or email on their preferred device. 

“The transition will bring more consistency to provider and patient education and help YNHHS meet the growing demand for more accessible content that is aligned with our care signature,” said Rebecca McCray, RN, executive director, Nursing Operations, YNHHS.
