Congratulations to the latest winners of our Special Thanks And Recognition awards, which honor employees whose behaviors align with Yale New Haven Health's Standards of Professional Behavior.
“I have worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 8-1/2 years. During this time, I have developed strong relationships with the providers I work with. My goal as an Administrative Coordinator of Excellence is to put patients first. I work closely with the hospitalist to achieve appropriate, safe transitions of care from admission to discharge. My main goal is to support and listen to patients' needs and advocate for those that don't have a voice or family to advocate for them. I am grateful for what I do every day."

“I am honored to have been chosen as a S.T.A.R. Award recipient. I am thankful to work with such a great team of staff here at Northeast Medical Group Cardiology – New London. As a new grad nurse in early 2021, I started working in the inpatient setting at L+M Hospital. After a year and a half, I accepted a job offer as an outpatient cardiology RN in New London. Nervous that I may not feel the same sense of fulfillment from the job, I can say I was very wrong about that. I have been able to spend quality time with patients both in person during appointments and over the phone, getting to give them my undivided attention. In doing so, I have been able to build wonderful patient relationships along the way. This role has driven me to pursue furthering my education to become a nurse practitioner. I look forward to continuing to provide compassionate care to our cardiology patients over the years to come."

“As a psychiatric clinician in the Emergency Department, it is my role to assist people who are faced with some of the most troubling situations of their lives. They often have no ability to help themselves, and often have no one to advocate for them. Although absolutely every person I see is important, it is those who have no one, and who feel they have no hope, who need me the most. Invariably, each day, I see someone who views me as their only hope, and sadly, I might be. This is when I am most energized, and there is nothing and no one that will stand in my way to help this person get to the other side of their hopelessness. Creating options for people who have no options, creating hope where there was none, and shining a light where there was only darkness, is what I do. It is my passion, and in my 30 years working in behavioral health, I have never worked for a better organization. Thank you for this recognition. It means so much."

“I am honored to have been chosen as a S.T.A.R. Award recipient. I have worked as a practice supervisor at Northeast Medical Group for over eight years, starting at the Walk-in centers then moving to Internal Medicine about two years ago. I began my healthcare career almost 30 years ago in Radiology as a radiologic technologist and educator, before moving into management, which has prepared me for the job I do today. I’m able to successfully tackle many challenging tasks, while managing a very large, busy office. Fortunately, I work with an amazing group of leaders, clinicians, and support staff who communicate well, work collaboratively as a team, and genuinely care about one another and our patients. Our office is the largest in Northeast Medical Group, and patient-centered care is always at the forefront. I’m proud of the work I do here, as it gives me a purpose as well as validation. I am grateful for this opportunity, and thoroughly enjoy my job."

“I am lucky to be part of an exceptional department within Northeast Medical Group. Working in Primary Care has given me the opportunities to serve, collaborate and continuously learn in a dynamic healthcare setting. It is truly a privilege that I cherish every day. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of patients daily. The camaraderie we share fosters a supportive and enriching work environment, where I am motivated to deliver individualized patient care. Being part of this compassionate and skilled position fills me with a sense of purpose, and I am proud of the work I do here.”

“I am so very fortunate to have found a group of providers that are so caring and dedicated to their patients. Infectious Disease is more than just a non-healing wound or a tick bite. We dedicate ourselves to maintaining a relationship with our patients who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Many have been coming to this office for over 30 years. We work as a team to ensure that all patients maintain their quality of life as well as longevity through compliance and communication. I try to streamline all issues and phone calls to help the providers provide the best care possible to their patients as they are extremely busy in office and as Hospitalists in multiple locations. We work together with programs in the area to assist patients with various needs as well as their healthcare. I have formed a bond with many of my patients. They feel comfortable calling or coming in for otherwise difficult issues that may arise due to their illness. I feel like I am here for a reason and serve a purpose. I can say I truly enjoy my position in the I D clinic."
