Throughout October, NEMG Community Outreach Committee (COC) members from the New London region held a drive to collect new socks and undergarments for men, women and children, with all donations benefitting both the New London Homeless Hospitality Center and the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center (PNC).
On Nov. 8, COC member Maureen Leach, APRN, presented 490 pairs of socks, approximately 420 undergarments for both men and women, 12 hats, a scarf and four bottles of Axe® Body Spray to the New London Homeless Hospitality Center - a place of safety and welcome to adults facing homelessness in southeastern Connecticut. On Nov. 11, Ashely Brady, PAA, delivered 60 more pairs of socks and men’s clothing items to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center – which meets basic needs for people experiencing financial hardship, provides services for seniors in need of socialization, and transportation for those living in Mystic, Pawcatuck, Stonington, North Stonington and Westerly.
“We would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s very generous drive,” said Tracy Cottrell, administrative associate. “We were very pleased with the response. The items were graciously received by the Homeless Hospitality Center and the PNC.”
