Danielle Torre, preventive health coordinator
This quarter, Northeast Medical Group recognizes a new member of its Diversity and Inclusion Council: Danielle Torre.
Danielle Torre, preventive health coordinator, started working at Yale New Haven Hospital in March 2013 and transitioned to NEMG in October 2019. In July 2020, she was invited to join the Diversity and Inclusion Council. An active supporter of community outreach, she is currently working with Columbus House to support the homeless, and she looks forward to volunteering with additional programs, including collaborating with the YMCA for Healthy Kids Day next spring.
“Working on the Diversity and Inclusion Council has been an amazing opportunity,” said Torre. “It has allowed me to work with members of NEMG who share the same passion of encompassing diversity and inclusion within the entire organization. The Diversity and Inclusion Council is also extremely innovative in the ways that we can support and give back to our surrounding communities and patient population. One of the most rewarding aspects has been collaboratively working on community outreach for the homeless population, engaging each other in open conversations related to diversity and raising awareness of our unconscious biases. The Diversity and Inclusion Council has given me the ability to promote awareness within myself and others throughout NEMG, while also working to help the surrounding communities.”
The Diversity and Inclusion Council is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help the communities we serve. For information or to join, contact Robert Mitchell, 203-384-5109. Watch for more information on council initiatives.
