NEMG and Smilow Cancer Hospital team up to offer new CME series

Northeast Medical Group and Smilow Cancer Hospital have joined together to offer a new Continuing Medical Education (CME) series called Smilow Shares with Primary Care. On the first Tuesday of the month at 5 pm, a panel including NEMG physicians (primarily in primary care) and Smilow specialists will present a one-hour topic comprised of a regional team. Panelists will generally start with a case of a potential shared patient, discussing best evidence around the care of an oncologic diagnosis, who might be cared for by a regional team. 

The monthly series, which began on Sept. 6, kicked off with a team of physicians in the Greenwich region jointly discussing the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. Be on the lookout for information on the following future presentations:

• Nov. 1, 2022 – Lung Cancer
• Dec. 6, 2022 – Anemia
• Feb. 7, 2023 – Gynecologic Oncology
• March 7, 2023 – Gastrointestinal Cancers
• April 4, 2023 – Palliative Care
• May 2, 2023 – Melanoma
• June 6, 2023 - Survivorship
