Justin Gauthier, MD

Justin Gauthier, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon dedicated to providing a wide variety of surgical interventions to his surrounding hometown community. Dr. Gauthier operates on all ages and walks of life, from five years old and up. Born and raised in Mystic, Connecticut, he has returned to his home community to serve the people he was raised among. His surgical pursuit began at Fitch High School in Groton, Connecticut, where he received a medical scholarship at only 18 years old. Furthering his education, he attended New York University with a double major in both pre-med and pre-law. Attending a global scholar’s program for medical school through St. George’s University, he traveled to 27 countries in hopes of bringing global surgical technology back home. He attended Mount Sinai South Nassau on Long Island for his surgical residency, earning several operative skills awards. Dr. Gauthier completed his Minimally Invasive Surgical (MIS) robotics fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and began his homecoming dream to fruition at Westerly Hospital.
