Vanessa A. Pomarico, APRN

Vanessa Pomarico, APRN, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, loves taking care of her patients and families to help them optimize not only their health, but also to partner with them so they succeed. Vanessa is also an educator and has published numerous book chapters and journal articles. She speaks nationally at conferences, medical schools and nursing and PA programs. Vanessa is passionate about educating not just patients, but tomorrow’s clinicians. She has a particular passion for caring for the LGBTQIA+ community, having done so since 2001.

Vanessa received her master’s degree in the family nurse practitioner program and her doctoral degree in nursing education from Southern Connecticut State University. She has been honored with several awards, most especially due to her work with the LGBTQIA+ community. Her most memorable awards were the Yale New Haven Health advanced practice providers publishing award and education award, Nightingale award for nursing excellence and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) clinical excellence award, where she was also inducted as a fellow in 2014. Vanessa is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
