Yi-Hao Yu, MD, PhD

Dr. Yu is a practicing endocrinologist with Endocrinology Associates of Greenwich, part of the Northeast Medical Group at Yale-New Haven Health. He is a recipient of several quality awards from Greenwich Hospital and NEMG and is recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors as well as American Top Physicians by the Consumers Research Council of America. Currently, he serves as the Chief of Endocrinology and the Medical Director of the in-patient diabetes program at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut.Dr. Yu earned his MD and PhD from NYU School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital. Over the course of his professional career, he has held distinctive positions in academic, research, clinical, and pharmaceutical sectors. These include Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University, Director of In-Patient Nutrition Services at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and Director of the Nutrition Fellowship Program at Columbia University Preventive Medicine & Nutrition. Additionally, he has served as clinical and teaching faculty at Easton Hospital, PA, holding the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Drexel University. Furthermore, Dr. Yu was Medical Director of Discovery Medicine & Clinical Pharmacology at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he was involved in the early phases of drug development.Since 2011, Dr. Yu has been with Endocrinology Associates of Greenwich. Beyond his medical practice, he is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). His research interests have spanned nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and lipid metabolism. Dr. Yu has a substantial body of published work, including over 20 original research papers in top-notch medical and scientific journals, as well as contributions to reviews, commentaries, book chapters, and clinical practice guidelines in these areas.
