What Does a Midwife Do?

Our midwives, skilled in the latest technologies and procedures, promote and support a woman’s natural physiology, offering a holistic approach to her health care. During pregnancy, midwives provide education and empower women to make decisions about the direction of their care. During labor and birth, midwives offer both physical and emotional support to women and their families. They are skilled in managing common problems in pregnancy and birth, and work in partnership with their colleagues in obstetrics if complications arise.

Expectant mothers receive personalized and attentive support and care every step of the way during pregnancy, labor, birth and postnatal care. Family planning is another area of expertise for our midwives, encompassing birth control, fertility issues, pregnancy testing, maternity care, delivery of your baby and postpartum care. Later in life, our providers will guide women through the menopause transition and other women’s health issues they may encounter.
