Employees score “touchdown” at local senior center

As part of an annual “Souper Bowl Saturday” event, Northeast Medical Group employees from the New London region volunteered to dish out soup to a sold-out crowd at the Groton Senior Center.
Despite a looming snowstorm, the yearly fundraiser was a success, with community members purchasing tickets to sample different soups donated by 14 area restaurants. Proceeds benefited the senior center’s Thrive +55 Active Living Center Nutritional Programs.
“Events like this allow the community to get together for a worthy cause,” said Katie Poitras-Sellari, practice operations manager. “The NEMG team had a wonderful time getting out into the community and talking with residents. We’re looking forward to another fantastic event next year.”
